A classic date idea. If you’ve been together a while it doesn’t matter what you see. If the relationship is new, choose something safe – that means funny, nothing too violent, sad, weird, artsy, intense or crude.
Catch a show
Dinner and show, does it get more date night?!
Going to a museum or taking in some art is a surefire conversation starter; perfect for those just getting to know each other.
Hit the local farmers market together and pick up some great local artisan products to make a nice picnic lunch or dinner.
Wine, beer or whisky tasting
Another activity good for conversation starting, and a good way to get to know someone’s tastes. Or come to Lone Star for a drink at the bar!
This is a daytime activity, but it takes a reasonable length of time and usually results in a few laughs.
Go for a hike, try indoor rock climbing, hit the beach for some Frisbee and a picnic…your options are almost endless here.
Go to a bar or your local pool hall and pocket a few balls. It’s fun and cheap and can take as short or long a time as you want it to.
If you’ve been together a while, make a scavenger hunt with clues that lead you to your most memorable date spots around your town/city.
Relax with some time at a day spa; get a couples’ massage, a nice body scrub, whatever you like. You’ll leave in such a good mood, who knows where the evening could lead…
Great if you’re on a budget. Board and card games take up a good amount of time, they’re reasonably social and if it gets a bit competitive, well that’s probably a side of your partner that you needed to get to know anyway. TIP: Twister is especially good for couples (wink wink nudge nudge).
